Whether you have a clear vision of your dream ADU or are just learning about the idea, our process is designed to ensure that you get exactly the build you want and understand every step of the way. Our goal is full transparency and a seamless process, start to finish. We’ve outlined the steps to our signature process below.
1. Provide your information
The first step in the process is getting some basic information that we can use to determine what kind of ADU we can build on your property through our online intake form. With the address of your project and a few other pieces of information, we can tell you the maximum size ADU allowed for your property and the setbacks required for your area. We’ll follow up your form with a letter that tells you exactly that.
2. Schedule your onsite consultation
Once you’ve examined the project proposal we send, you can schedule your onsite consultation. We’ll provide a link to our scheduling and payment platform in the email we send with the project proposal, but you can also pick up the phone and call if you prefer to do it that way.
We charge a $250 fee for our onsite consultations to cover our costs and time. If you decide to move forward with the project, we’ll subtract the consultation fee from the total project fee.
3. Meet with our project leaders for a consultation
When your scheduled appointment arrives, one of our team leaders will meet you at your property. During this appointment, they’ll take measurements, assess other aspects of your property such as slope and access, and chat with you about your ideas and goals for your ADU.
4. Review your estimate and sign your contract
Within a week of our onsite consultation, we’ll reach back out to you with an itemized estimate for your project. This estimate is based on cost per square foot and approximates your total project cost. You’ll also receive a few design ideas in the form of 3D models to consider (if you didn’t already have a design in mind) and a contract to sign if you want to move forward.
5. Approve your design
This is your ADU and it should look and feel exactly how you want it to. Choose from one of the 3D models we sent with the estimate or work with our team to come up with a design that fits your vision. Once you’re happy with the design, you’ll sign on the dotted line to approve and we’ll move forward.
